I am still trying to understand it, this is like a natural disaster, hard and fast with apparently no one seeing it come. Everyone is scrambling and worrying; government, companies and people (even rappers are rapping recessions, and these guy never seem affected on a national scale). No one is really good as far as I know. I am pretty sure some people saw this coming, I think a lot of people saw it coming but when their is a lot of money to be made and no end in sight, people just keep going.Right now WHOSE FAULT IS THIS? (I don’t really but the government and American people love to find the villain almost as much as the solution to the problem

Again moving towards the future slowly( this time;Minority Report style)
Posted in Tecknology on September 28, 2008 by acuriousmind80sPRE-CRIME DETECTOR SHOWS PROMISE
Nope can’t say I like it, i don’t advocate criminal behavior, but like the movie Minority Report( Tom Cruise was in it) showed us, this power of precognition is not good, but if it can save lives I guess the inconvenience may be worth the convenience of safety. Another debate with no clear cut answers….. sighhhhh.
Last year, New Scientist revealed that the US Department of Homeland Security is developing a system designed to detect “hostile thoughts” in people walking through border posts, airports and public places. The DHS says recent tests prove it works.

Artist Breaks up with Label, Where is the Artist going to go!!!(MySpace Records?)
Posted in Music on September 26, 2008 by acuriousmind80sMYSPACE MUSIC: LIKE NAPSTER……….. WITH A BUSINESS PLAN
I personally like this one, I resent the dominance Itunes has over the market and the usual record labels after years off given us 2 or 3 quality songs on albums(not all but for the most part) have met their match in downloads(legal and illegal). If well planned digital and alternative labels can become a legitimate competitor( except for TAG Records as in bodyspray TAG, i still don’t get it)
MySpace is no longer just “a place for friends,” deceptively flattering photos and seizure-inducing Web page design, but a place for the music industry as well. This morning the company rolled out MySpace Music, the music destination site with which it hopes to take on Apple’s (AAPL) iTunes. MySpace Music, in the words of MySpace CEO Chris DeWolfe, is a mega-music experience. “This is really a mega-music experience that is transformative in a lot of ways,” DeWolfe enthused earlier this year. “It’s the first service that offers a full catalog of music to be streamed for free, with full community features, to be shared with all of your friends.”
We are actually moving into the Future(Slowly very Slowly)
Posted in Tecknology, What I Call ART on September 23, 2008 by acuriousmind80sJAPAN HOPES TO TURN SCI-FI INTO REALITY WITH ELEVATOR TO THE STARS
It sounds very FUTURISTIC and the ambition is amazing but the feasibility is questionable, it will be interesting to see what people say about this in 5 years times. Its always amazing when people turn the visions of fiction writers to the reality. Pretty much why Art and Science combined overrides either one of them individually.
From cyborg housemaids and waterpowered cars to dog translators and rocket boots, Japanese boffins have racked up plenty of near-misses in the quest to turn science fiction into reality.
Now the finest scientific minds of Japan are devoting themselves to cracking the greatest sci-fi vision of all: the space elevator. Man has so far conquered space by painfully and inefficiently blasting himself out of the atmosphere but the 21st century should bring a more leisurely ride to the final frontier.
Whats Going on over in Europe?( They doing okay)
Posted in Uncategorized on September 22, 2008 by acuriousmind80sLITTLE CRISIS FOR EUROPEAN BANKS (I wonder why? note sarcasm)
While U.S. banks took on lucrative risks, European banks have played it safe. Now Old World institutions are more likely to be buying
Suddenly, stodgy banks are looking smart. And with former Wall Street giants toppling almost daily, some European banks are starting to look especially wise.
European banks are holding up pretty well amid the turmoil sweeping the industry. None of the Old World’s biggest banks appears likely to fail or put itself on the block, analysts say. Indeed, the Europeans are more likely to be buying: London-based Barclays (BCS) on Sept. 17 inked a $1.75 billion cash deal to buy the investment banking and trading businesses of bankrupt Lehman Brothers.

Something you didn’t know about IPod and Zune
Posted in Music, Tecknology on September 17, 2008 by acuriousmind80sRemeber Zune, don’t forget it you might want to look at what music player you get next
Amid a speech by its CEO and a musical performance, Apple last week unveiled a new version of its iTunes software and some new iPods.
Meanwhile, Microsoft’s Zune announced via press release that new players in different capacities and colors would be available this week, along with a software update.
Despite their different approaches, these two announcements shared a notable common thread: integrated music discovery. Each company’s new software features ways for users to find automatically generated suggestions of music they might like, the way Pandora Media Inc.’s popular personalized music lists do. Of course, music discovery also encourages users to buy more.
Wow Now you can Read the Journal and enjoy a glass of Wine from the same Company
Posted in Uncategorized on September 13, 2008 by acuriousmind80sHmmm….. What do I think about this, it is a weird and funny combination but I guess it might work. I mean we know the economy is bad, so I see a lot of companies looking for alternate ways to make revenue. I think we are going to see a lot of traditional institutions change and alter their foundation as they try to survive in this new and unfamiliar economy. I mean why not the logic speaks for itself, Lets Sell a Product that will Always sell: ALCOHOL
AMAZON, WSJ TRY NEW ALCOHOLIC REVENUE STREAMS: Selling WINE
The Wall Street Journal has a wine franchise in columnists Dorothy J. Gaiter and John Brecher that’s hard to match on the content side. Now Dow Jones (NYSE: NWS) hopes to capitalize on the combination of that reputation and its affluent audience by offering WSJwine, a direct-to-home wine service. Pairing with Direct Wines, WSJwine launched today promising a wide range of choices but without any actual connection to WSJ’s wine journalism.
